Your data, your choice

Use the hosted version or self-host a single binary — Postgres + MinIO or just SQLite + files.

Why I made this

Not a business. Just something useful, given away.

I keep bees, and I wanted a calm, honest place to keep my records — one that works right at the hive, in my pocket, with or without a signal. I couldn't find it, so I built it.

There's nothing to sell here and no one to upsell. Openbeehive is free and open source, and your records stay yours — keep them in the hosted version or run the whole thing on your own machine. If it helps you keep better bees, that's the entire point.

Open, and here to stay

Every line lives on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0. Read it, improve it, or run your own copy — because something useful shouldn't depend on me being around.

Run it yourself

Would rather keep everything on your own machine? Run Openbeehive yourself — a single small binary, or Postgres and object storage if you prefer. No account, nothing leaving your control.

docker compose up -d  ·  DEPLOYMENT_PROFILE=selfhost

Come on in

It opens right in your browser — no account hoops, nothing to buy. Add it to your home screen whenever you like.

Open the app

Openbeehive is early software (v0.1.0) — already useful, but expect rough edges, and please keep your own backups. The hosted version is free and ad-free.
